From the American Music Awards… to your party with a DJ!
The 2015 American Music Awards have just come to a close, broadcast live from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, and we at DJ4 have enjoyed every moment of them (online), ready to draw inspiration from the best of the evening to bring you the latest trends. First of all, let’s start with the event’s host, a “super-stylish” Jennifer Lopez (pictured top left), who proposed a 2015 version of the famous “Waiting For Tonight” from 1999. To get straight to the point, the 25-year-old took home the awards for best song of the year (with “Blank Space”) and best album Taylor Swift.
PARTY DJ AND NEW MUSIC
Best band for the One Direction, whilst Ed Sheeran won the title of best artist masculine. Ariana Grande, on the other hand, bagged the equivalent award “for the feminine” (even managing to beat Meghan Trainor, one of the most formidable contenders). Incidentally, it was Meghan Trainor herself who caused a bit of a stir alongside Charlie Puth, with whom she performed an acoustic rendition of the hit “Marvin Gaye”, treating the audience to a rather “spicy” moment :-).
As for the’hip-hop, it was the year of Nicki Minaj: Best Artist and Best Album (The Pinkprint). And the ever-present Rihanna? He takes comfort in the award for best artist R&B.
There was certainly a spine-tingling moment at this year’s American Music Awards, when the brilliant Celine Dion sang Édith Piaf’s ‘Hymne à l’amour’ as a tribute to her French friends.
In short, there are plenty of ideas and suggestions for us DJs at DJ4 when it comes to music for your parties! In particular, we find the new one from Ariana Grande (Best Artist), Focus. Very popular with young ladies, at young people’s parties (eighteenth birthday parties, for example) and when nightclubs first open. Here it is!
