AUTUMN 2023 SONGS: THE TOP TRACKS OF THE MOMENT

L’autumn It is a season characterised by an explosion of warm colours and… the first chill in the air. As temperatures drop and the days grow shorter, autumn often evokes a sense of melancholy. It is the time when nature prepares for its winter slumber, and this transition can be reflected in our mood. And that is why artists often focus on producing slightly more introspective songs at this time of year.

For example, Annalisa, whilst awaiting the release of her album *E poi siamo finiti nel vortice*, has chosen autumn as the setting for her track “Alone“, with a more intimate feel, following the light-hearted, spring and summer hits of “Absolutely beautiful”, “My love” and “Disco Paradise”.

Three Italian songs that are all the rage right now… with a summery feel

However, there are exceptions: for example, we would like to highlight three current hits, all Italian, really vibrant and cheerful, and very popular this autumn of 2023, which instantly put you in a summery mood!

Top foreign songs of the moment, international pop: the return of Dua Lipa

On the international pop scene, three undisputed leading ladies are making a comeback; Dua Lipa,  Selena Gomez e Doja Cat. The Albanian singer is back with “Houdini“, the eagerly awaited single that heralds the start of a new chapter following her hugely successful 2020 album, “Future Nostalgia”, whilst Selena Gomez makes her comeback with “Single Soon“.

Also Doja Cat, now firmly established as a leading figure on the pop scene, with “Paint The Town Red” (the first single from the fourth studio album *Scarlet*) has been a massive hit: it’s broken streaming records on Spotify and reached the top of the Billboard Global 200 chart.

Marking the official opening of the European market to K-pop stars, Jung Kook (a member of the band BTS since 2013, who made his solo debut in 2023) and his ‘Standing Next to You“, which is somewhat reminiscent of some of Justin Timberlake’s hits.

The rock greats… have come together

This Autumn 2023 is characterised by numerous big comebacks on the rock scene: The Rolling Stones and their single “Angry” (from the new album “Hackney Diamond”, with the video filmed on the streets of Los Angeles featuring the actress Sydney Sweeney), the U2 with “Atomic City“ and Lenny Kravitz with “TK421”.

Let’s focus in particular on the passage from Lenny Kravitz, in true American performer style, featuring strong black music influences and recreating atmospheres reminiscent of the late Prince. This track also has a great groove and is proving a hit even when played as part of a rock set at your parties! Latino: three really important new developments

Although we tend to think of Latin music mainly during the summer, this autumn of 2023 promises some exciting new releases from three “giants” of the genre. Maluma (In our country, he is the Latin American singer with the most Instagram followers, after Shakira) has “resurfaced”, following his summer single “Power of Attorney” and Anitta with “A Thousand Times” . But the highlight is undoubtedly the new one by Zion & Lennox and Wisin: “Now” is really getting people dancing! A cheerful, carefree reggaeton track that’s often very well received; although reggaeton is currently experiencing a slight dip in popularity following the oversaturation of recent years, it remains a brilliant way to give your parties a real boost!

Finally, a special mention for “Teeth” by J Balvin, Usher and DJ Khaled, which, whilst essentially a reggaeton track, has a nod to dance music: it’s going down a treat on the dance floor.

Dance: with Purple Disco Machine and Bob Sinclar… you can’t go wrong

And continuing with the dance music trend, we’d like to highlight the new release from Purple Disco Machine, which really never puts a foot wrong: this time, it’s the turn of “Something on my mind“, played constantly on the radio and danced to in nightclubs. Surprisingly, Bob Sinclar has “got his hands on” a hugely successful Matia Bazar track from the 1980s, “I can hear you”, somewhat echoing the approach he took about ten years ago with Raffaella Carrà’s ’Far l’amore“; this time, the beat is less captivating and it’s certainly not a track that will stand the test of time, but the result is of a high standard and the great French DJ has certainly not lacked good taste.

We’d also like to highlight a group you certainly wouldn’t expect to find in the dance section: the Duran Duran, featuring ‘Psycho Killer’, in collaboration with Victoria De Angelis of Maneskin: the version Rivaz Remix It’s got real punch! And for those feeling nostalgic, we’d like to highlight a special release of Daft Punk’s legendary album, *Random Access Memories* (who doesn’t remember *Get Lucky*!), in the new “Drumless Edition”: it goes on sale on 17 November 2023.
