DJs FOR PARTIES AND CLUBS: TOWARDS QUALITY MUSIC?
DJs for private parties: here are the hits to dance to (2013 and 2014)
This summer has been rather unusual from a weather perspective, but not only that… it’s also been unusual in musical terms. Now that the overload of World Cup songs (Shakira, Pitbull and others, now on the wane) is over, here are some higher-quality projects that are really taking off – here they are: Unlike in previous years (although things were already starting to change back in 2013…), we’re witnessing the rise of top-quality dance tracks, which are played a lot in clubs and are in “heavy rotation” on the main radio stations (including mainstream ones).
Follow The Sun – Times Square vs Xavier Rudd
Hideaway – Kiesza
She Moves – Alle Farben featuring Graham Candy
We would also like to highlight
Pushing On – Oliver $, Jimi Jules
I Got U by Duke Dumont featuring Jax Jones
Certainly, these tracks – perfect for clubs and discos (though certainly not for the middle of the evening… they are, after all, rather “soft” and classy pieces…) – will define the second half of this summer, in the hope that this wave of beautiful, high-quality dance music won’t fade away once we return from our holidays. We at DJ4 are undoubtedly among the driving forces behind this trend: yours, Party DJs I’m all for music that’s both high-quality and fun.
Summer hits: what ever happened to them?
Well, of course, you can’t exactly say they’ve disappeared… in particular, it’s David Guetta the “king” of “commercial” music (along with Calvin Harris with ’Summer’, which, mind you, has already become a bit of a bit of a bore… we could do with a good remix to breathe new life into it). For David Guetta, in fact, there are two tracks that are really working: Bad (in collaboration with Vassy) and the very recent Lovers On The Sun (featuring Sam Martin). In particular, the latest track is a real hit, with that sound reminiscent of the Old West… and a bit like Avicii’s hit from last year, ’Wake Me Up“, too. As for ”Lovers on the Sun“, there are already some edits ready to make it more danceable in certain types of venues. And here at DJ4, we never get caught unprepared: when we play in nightclubs or disco-pubs, we always have various versions of the tracks, so we can ”get into the groove’ perfectly with the dance floor and the type of venue… as always, a ‘five-star’ service from your Party DJs.
