DJ4 and Wheelchair GP: everyone on the track!

Last updated on: 15 April 2017

Following on from last year’s experience, we at DJ4 have once again embraced the cause of Wheelchair GP (Click above to watch the video of this edition, which has just come to an end), the electric wheelchair race conceived and organised by Michele Sanguine. The Wheelchair GP is a race featuring people with neuromuscular conditions, now in its third edition (watch HERE (the 2016 event).

The event took place at the’International Indoor Karting in Moniga del Garda, in the tried-and-tested format of the individual time trial. The race was won by, Fabio Arenta, with a lap time of 1 minute and 52 seconds, in second place Luca Mercuri (2 minutes and 8 seconds) and on the third step of the podium Vincenzo Lucia in 2 minutes and 10 seconds.

Here at DJ4, amongst the sponsors of this year’s event (which saw a huge number of volunteers working together for this cause), we provided our sound system and a DJ set by DJ Jody Belli.

Thank you to all the volunteers who made the race possible, to the UILDM (Italian Union for the Fight against Muscular Dystrophy) and the ever-so-friendly Michele Sanguine, aged 32, official commentator and president of Wheelchair GP, who states «We, young people with muscular dystrophy’ Duchenne »There are only a few things we can do, and one of them is driving: because we have a powerful means of transport at our disposal that allows us to get about, to speed along and to avoid obstacles. We’re professional drivers – more so than a racing driver or a sales representative – every single day in our electric wheelchair!’
