Autumn 2018: the hottest tracks for your parties

With summer now well and truly behind us, it’s time for a new ranking from DJ4 (DJs and sound and lighting services for parties and events): the 10 songs the latest tracks, mixed just for you in 10 minutes. This time, for our autumn instalment, we’ve tried to focus on the tracks that are currently topping the international charts, whilst also keeping an eye on what’s most popular at the parties and events we organise as professional music entertainers (such as birthdays and corporate events). As always, please bear in mind that our ‘10 songs in 10 minutes’ selection is merely an example of what we can offer for your events; therefore, revival tracks are excluded (listen to them HERE) and tracks to listen to whilst having an aperitif (you can hear them HERE)Let’s start straight away with two tracks for the younger listeners. It is Au/Ra, a very young singer following in her father’s footsteps (her father is the producer Torsten Stenzel), who gives voice to a “generational” anxiety expressed through words and sounds in the beautiful Panic Room. The track, originally released in a pop version in February, was subsequently re-released in a more danceable version, thanks to a collaboration with the British duo CamelPhat (Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala), becoming a huge hit in clubs overseas and also very popular here at home.
We’re bringing it to you in yet another version: *Panic Room* in the version by Denis First Reznikov.
Another club favourite, perfect for a very young crowd (ideal for DJ4’s 18th-birthday parties), is Losing It by the Australian DJ Fisher. In this case, we’re looking at sounds that are decidedly more tech-house in style, with a beat that’s pulsating to say the least, punctuated by rapid bursts of drums.

LISTEN TO OUR 10-MINUTE MIX OF THE HIT SONGS OF THE MOMENT BELOW

It actually came out last summer, but it’s now reaching its peak on the radio and on the dance floor, My Life Is Going On by Burak Yeter and Cecilia Krull. This is a remix of the soundtrack to a hugely successful Netflix television series, *La casa de Papel* (*La casa di carta* in Italy). Incidentally, Burak Yeter performed it at the Wind Summer Festival 2018, accompanied by dancers wearing red jumpsuits and Salvador Dalí masks – the same costumes worn by the protagonists in a famous scene from the series.

Here at DJ4, we keep a close eye on The Chainsmokers Ever since the release (more than two years ago) of their record-breaking hit “Closer”, we have been particularly impressed by “Side Effects“. It’s different from the duo’s other recent tracks (such as ‘You Owe Me’); it has a funkier, disco-style vibe that’s summery and decidedly upbeat.

He says he doesn’t “make promises” (“I make no promises…”), but Calvin Harris certainly does make promises, as always: in Promises, the new single by Calvin Harris and Sam Smith – there’s a sensual atmosphere that doesn’t take away from the track’s rhythm, making it perfect for the autumn season.
And without straying too far from this atmosphere, but veering towards a vaguely R&B feel, we’d like to present Signs by Hugel & Taio Cruz

And just when we thought that the reggaeton Just when we thought we’d left it all behind us with those last evenings on the beach, two tracks – already very popular abroad – have come along to show us that we were definitely wrong. They are Taki Taki (DJ Snake featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna & Cardi B.) a real hit on all the international charts and Goodbye (Jason Derulo e David Guetta) which features a sample from Andrea Bocelli’s famous song “Time to Say Goodbye”, and Nicki Minaj’s ever-compelling rap.

It’s currently enjoying quite a bit of success in Italy, Body by Loud Luxury, featuring Brando, a track that brought the Canadian duo of Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace to prominence abroad.

Although it’s always difficult to select the tracks of the moment – because there’s always something that inevitably gets left out – we’re rounding off our autumn chart with Dua Lipa. A year on from the success of “New Rules” (which topped the UK streaming charts) and following a string of excellent and consistently spot-on collaborations (with Calvin Harris and Miguel), the British artist does not disappoint! This time, she’s teamed up with Silk City (a musical project by Mark Ronson and Diplo) for the track Electricity (Colin Jay & Keepin It Heale Remix). The performance of the track ‘Electricity’ at the American Music Awards was particularly captivating.
