70s DJ party

Hi everyone! Here’s a very important update: we’ve just launched a 70s-themed party (in Milan), for a small group of 18-year-olds who decided, for one night, to relive the experiences that… their fathers had! Well, to organise a 70s-themed party It’s not at all easy. Here at DJ4 We have dealt with both the’staging, as well as the DJ set, with Jody and Mr Ricky.

WHAT KIND OF 70s PARTY WOULD IT BE WITHOUT A MIRROR BALL?

As for the staging, the “star” of the evening was supposed to be the legendary “disco ball”The 1970s, the mirror ball. And that’s exactly what happened. Fixing it in place was anything but straightforward, given that we mounted it on a custom-built structure (it had to be attached to a metal frame; it wasn’t possible to mount it on the ceiling). But that certainly wasn’t the end of it: a Moonflower robot, a second “disco ball” opposite the DJ desk, and LED lights “running” throughout the venue (over 400 square metres) to create the perfect atmosphere for a massive party!

The sound system, with two “speakers” and a subwoofer, was impressive (they pointed this out to us, and that’s always a pleasure :-))… everything’s ready for the vintage party!

LET’S GET THE PARTY STARTED RIGHT AWAY

The lads, all (or nearly all) of them 70s-themed outfits, it didn’t take them long to get into the right “mood”, thanks to our tried-and-tested selection of vintage music, honed over more than 20 years of parties! We started off gently but with a good beat (for example, with “Fantasy” by Earth, Wind and Fire, and George Benson’s “Give Me The Night”).

AND HERE COME THE DANCEFLOOR FILLERS!

We were delighted to see that long-standing favourites such as  Daddy Cool by Boney M, I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, Disco Inferno by The Trammps, Hot Stuff by Donna Summer and YMCA They are loved and danced to even by a very young audience like the one that evening. There was no shortage of excellent “Tony Maneros” who recreated John Travolta’s moves to the Bee Gees“ song “Stay Alive“, a great classic that simply had to be included, and some Michael Jackson impersonators performing to the tune of Billie Jean.
