There are now a number of scientific studies that recognise the fundamental role music plays in the perception of fatigue. One of the most recent was published in July in the international journal *International* Journal of Psychophysiology

Through an experiment involving nineteen healthy adults (7 women and 12 men) and Marvin Gaye’s wonderful “Heard It Through The Grapevine”, the researchers confirmed that the presence of music is capable of making the’more enjoyable exercise. Put very simply, it can be said that music triggers a physiological mechanism that reduces symptoms associated with fatigue.
Research into the physiological mechanisms that govern the relationship between physical exercise, fatigue and music will undoubtedly have interesting implications from a medical and scientific perspective in general.
For us “non-scientists”, however, it confirms what common sense and fitness practices suggest: Exercising to music improves physical performance and makes the activity more enjoyable. Every gym manager knows this only too well (or ought to know it).
Music for gym openings: DJ4 for a top-class event!

Here at DJ4 We are convinced, however, that this link between music and fitness can be developed even further and that music, in the right hands (those of a professional DJ, obviously from the team at DJ4), it can provide that extra boost for the launch of a new gym and act as that distinctive feature that gives character and a new lease of life to, for example, the’opening ceremony of the new season fitness.
For several years now, we have been developing a bespoke project for gyms, in collaboration with FitActive!

First of all, for the openings of new gyms: a very delicate moment when the new business is being launched, and when ensuring the music is just right means engaging the audience and communicating effectively with those who will be potential customers.
But that’s not all…
We assist and support gym managers in planning and organising (as far as the music is concerned) not only the fitness season kick-off parties (usually in September–October), as well as Christmas parties and other social events throughout the year that help to add that little bit extra to the gym experience.

And for the most “on the ball” and “trendy” managers, we recommend the “party workout”: Originating in the US and having spread rapidly across Europe (mainly in Great Britain), they represent the new “nightclub” experience, complete with energy drinks and fitness equipment, LED lights and DJs… a form of entertainment centred on keeping fit.
So what are you waiting for? Get in touch with us to make your gym event a memorable one!
