Last updated on: 4 July 2022

Once again this year, the online newspaper “The Sussidiario” asked us to take stock of the music scene over the last 12 months (here The full article, published on 31 December; in this post, a few days later, we’re giving you a brief preview and reminding you that you can also access the “Best of 2020” via the playlist on YouTube).
2020 was a year of re-elections, from Dua Lipa, who didn’t put a foot wrong (“Don’t Start Now”, “Break My Heart”, “Levitating” and “Un dia (One day)” featuring J Balvin), to the Black Eyed Peas including “Mamacita” and “Girl like me” (featuring Shakira), to Lady Gaga, featuring “Stupid Love”, the debut single, as well as “911” and “Rain on Me” (featuring Ariana Grande).
In our ’All the Best“ round-up for 2020, we couldn’t possibly leave out the big hits that are still with us as we begin 2021: ”Take You Dancing“ by Jason Derulo (“Savage Love”, on the other hand, was her hit from that spring) and “Save Your Tears” by The Weeknd (The single “Blinding Lights”, on the other hand, kept us company during the first half of 2020.).
What about dance music? Gigi d’Agostino Along with “Hollywood”, it is one of the milestones of 2020, alongside Bob Sinclar (“I’m on my way”) and, above all, to the Purple Disco Machine: “In My Arms”, “Hypnotized” and “Exotica” are the big hits from this prolific German DJ. Also worth mentioning is “Paradise” by Medusa, Business by Tiesto and Lovelife by Benny Benassi. There are also two of our own tracks to dance to: Shiva feat. Eiffel 65 with Auto Blu and Fedez with *Bimbi per strada*. And these are just some of the tracks we analyse in the article written for the Sussidiario.

To stick to domestic matters – though we cannot reveal too much about them just yet… – the article in *Il Sussidiario* contains numerous references to the Boomdabash, with “Karaoke” (featuring Alessandra Amoroso), at the Takagi & Ketra with “Ciclone”, sung by Elodie, and the eclectic Achille Lauro. But the hip-hop genre is also represented by Sfera Ebbasta, featuring “Famoso” and from Gue Pequeno, with “Mr Fini”.
